In case you want to have some discounts for your event that will gradually open on the page, setting a start date, end date, or number of tickets you wish to offer with that specific discount, you can set a 'Discount Limitation'.
Step 1: Create the discount First, you should have already created your discounts in the event's price list. Check below how to do it.
Step 2: Set a discount limit on the date you want
- Click on the ‘Administration’ tab.
- Select 'Events' from the left-hand side.
- From the list on the right, choose the event you desire.
- Go to the 'Dates' tab of your event, select the date(s) you want to set a limit on (you can choose all of them).
- Click on ‘Define discount’s limit'.
- In the window that opens, from the drop-down menu 'Select Discounts' choose the discount (or discounts) for which you want to set a limit.
- Then, click somewhere outside the window to continue. For each discount you have selected, you can set either a 'Maximum number of ticket’ limit or a 'Valid From' and/or 'Valid Το’ date.
Do not select both fields (max. number of ticket limit and date), as they do not work together.
If you choose a date, the change will occur at midnight, 00:01, on the day you set (e.g., if you want a discount to be available until April 20th, you will put April 21st in the 'Valid Until' field).
If you choose to set a ‘max number of tickets’ limit, it is important to consider the capacity of your event venue so that you can enter an appropriate number in these fields.
Leave the ‘Message shown on site’ field blank and do not select anything in the Show on site' field.
Optional step:
Additionally, you can choose to open another discount when the max number of ticket limit or the date you have set is reached.
After selecting the discount or discounts for which you want to set a limit, on the right-hand side, you will see the Discount that follows' option.
For example, if you have an early bird pricing, you can set it up so that after a certain number of tickets are sold or on a specific date, the regular ticket price opens.
Once you have completed the process with the unlocking discounts, click on the "Save" button and then click "OK" in the confirmation message.
If you want to view the discount limitations you have set for an event, follow these steps:
- Click on the "Administration" tab.
- Select "Events" from the left-hand side.
- From the list on the right, choose the event you want.
- Go to the "Event Dates" tab of your event and click on the arrow icon to the left of the space.
- Finally, click on "Show preset discount limits.
